Big Dance Party: Open Season 2026/2027

Ladies and gentlemen! Partners! Lindy hoppers, ballroom dancers, blues lovers, and everyone involved in the high art of swing dancing.

Summer is over. It was a mixed bag — challenging and, to be honest, not exactly relaxing. But even in times like these, we need moments when we can put the news aside for at least a few hours, take a deep breath, stretch our bodies, and give our brains a little rest.

That is why the Kyiv Swing Dance Club is kicking off the 2026/2027 season with a party in the main hall

Tonight will have everything we get together for: lindy hop, blues, balboa, live music, DJs, jam sessions, competitions, and, of course, social dancing. Just a few hours of music, dancing, and hanging out with people who are fun to be around. Because right now, relaxation isn’t a luxury — it’s a way to recharge a little so we’ll have the energy for everything else.

The program includes:

• A Lindy Hop dance floor with live swing music (Alex & His Hot Five)
• A blues room
• A bar
• Photos
• Competitions (Lindy Hop M&M Open and 30 seconds showcase)
• Jams
• And lots of dancing

We really want our Club to remain a place for happy people. Not because everything around us is great, but because even in tough times, we can create a little bubble for ourselves — a place with movement, music, friends, and a bit of normal life.

Come on time, and you’ll have time to see everything and dance. Or just hang out with your friends.

And… registration for the competition is now open:

PLEASE NOTE! If you register with a leader, you’ll 100% avoid the waiting list — just mention each other in the comments. Registration for the competition is open until 6:00 p.m. on September 24.

The Lindy Hop Mix&Match Open Competition has been CANCELED! We tried our best and did our utmost to make it happen, but… we’re critically short on leaders to run the competition. So we’ll just relax, hang out, and dance. As for the medals… they won’t go bad, and we’ll save them for the next opportunity. 🥰

30 seconds showcaseПосилання на секцію 30-seconds-showcase

Here’s where you can finally show off your talents in all their glory without too much stress.

No restrictions, except for the time limit: 30, maximum 40 seconds. It’s preferable that it be a dance — ideally swing or blues — but if you’d rather recite a poem, that’s fine too (you must do it while sitting on a chair!).

To register, send an email to KSDC.news@gmail.com. Be sure to include the title of your performance, the first and last names of all participants, and attach an audio file with the musical accompaniment.

The deadline for submissions is September 25 at 8:00 PM. Please make sure to send your materials on time so we can include you in the official program.

How to attend the eventПосилання на секцію how-to-attend-the-event

This Saturday, we’re looking forward to welcoming not only people from Kyiv, but also many others — for example, those traveling several hundred kilometers to be here, those who are coming just to listen to music, and even those who are currently defending us but still find a way to be part of our community.💛

That’s why we’ve prepared special admission prices:
Guests from other cities — 500 UAH (Lviv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk — maybe we forgot someone else).

Guests who aren’t dancing — 300 UAH (You don’t have to dance — you can just listen to the music, chat, watch everything from the sidelines, and have a great evening).

💙💛 Military personnel — 300 UAH. Thank you!

And a quick reminder: tickets will be more expensive at the door, so if you already know you’ll be joining us on September 26, it’s best to buy your ticket in advance.

See you on the dance floor. Or next to it. Or at the bar. The main thing is that we’re together. 🫶🏼

When: September 26

Admission fee:

• If paid between September 3 and September 9 — 550 UAH.
